Elizabeth Lang-Miers

Elizabeth Lang-Miers is a judge on the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals. Governor Perry appointed her to this position in 2003[1] and her current term ends on December 31, 2012.[2]
Biography
Justice Lang-Miers grew up in Missouri. She earned a bachelor's degree in 1972 and a law degree in 1975 from the University of Missouri-Columbia.[1]
Legal Career
After graduating from law school Justice Lang-Miers clerked for the Missouri Supreme Court then entered private practice in Dallas with the firm Locke Lorde Bissel & Liddell. There, she practiced commercial litigation and employment law for 28 years until her 2003 appointment to the Fifth District by Gov. Rick Perry.[1]
Personal Life
Justice Lang-Miers is married to Jeb Miers, and they have two children. Outside the court Justice Lang-Miers plays the piano and guitar.
Her brother, Doug, is also a justice on the Fifth District.[1]
