Eugene Fahey

Eugene M. Fahey is a judge on the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Fourth Department. He was appointed to this division in December of 2006.[1]
Biography
Judge Fahey earned a B.A. degree in political science from the State University of New York in 1974. He went on to receive a law degree in 1984 and an M.A. degree in European History in 1998 from the same school. Before law school, he worked as a member of the Buffalo Common Council (1978 to 1984). He then served a second term from 1988 to 1995.[1]
Legal career
Judge Fahey began his career in 1978 as a member of the Buffalo Common Council. He worked in this capacity until 1984, when he became a law clerk to Justice Edgar NeMoyer. In 1985, he entered the private practice of law and worked as legal counsel for Kemper Insurance Company until 1993. In 1994, he was elected to the Buffalo City Court. He was elected to the State Supreme Court in 1996. Since then, he has presided over cases in Erie County and the 8th Judicial District. In January of 2005, he was assigned to the Criminal Division. He held this position until his appointment to the Appellate Division.[1]
