Eve V. Belfance is a judge on the Ohio Ninth District Court of Appeals. She was elected to this position on November 4, 2008 and took office on February 9, 2009[1]. She will be up for re-election in 2014, before her term ends on February 8, 2015.[2]

Education

Judge Belfance graduated from Yale University in 1984 and from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1990. She later worked as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.[3]

Legal career

Judge Belfance began her legal career with the firm Calfee, Halter & Griswold. She then joined the firm Kathryn A. Belfance & Associates. Her specialty was appellate law. She moved to Washington, D.C. in 1998, when she was appointed a federal judicial attorney. In 2005, she was elected to the Akron Municipal Court, where she has presided over various kinds of cases and over the DUI court. She served on the Municipal Court until her election to the Court of Appeals in 2008.[3]
