This State Intermediate Appellate Court article needs to be expanded The Florida District Courts of Appeal are the intermediate appellate courts in Florida.
The intermediate appellate courts were established in Florida in 1957. Florida did not have district courts of appeal until 1957. They were established because the Florida Supreme Court's docket was becoming congested with appeals from the state's trial courts.[1]

The court is divided into five districts.
