North Dakota: Former North Dakota District Court Judge Randall Hoffman pled guilty to three sex charges before the South Central Judicial District Judge Thomas J. Schneider. Hoffman pled guilty to a Class AA felony continuous sexual abuse of a child which can carry a life sentence, a Class A felony attempted gross sexual imposition which can carry a sentence of 20 years and a Class C felony corruption or solicitation of minors which carries a maximum 5 year sentence. In exchange for the guilty pleas prosecutors agreed to drop 49 other charges of corruption and solicitation of a minor. Hoffman was still employed as the police chief and only officer in Elgin, SD until his arrest in 2010. He resigned from the court in 1999 for unrelated charges stemming from stalking and harassing his ex-wife. [1]
