Fortuanto Pedro Benavides (b. 1947) is a federal appeals judge on senior status for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He joined the court in 1994 after being nominated by President Bill Clinton. Benavides assumesd senior status on February 3, 2012.[1]
Early life and Education
Benavides graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor's in Business Administration in 1968 and later graduated from Houston Law with his juris doctor degree in 1972.[1]

Benavides was nominated by President Bill Clinton on January 27, 1994 to a seat vacated by Thomas Gee. Confirmed by the Senate on May 6, 1994, and received commission on May 9, 1994. Benavides assumesd senior status on February 3, 2012.[1]
