Four candidates for the federal bench nominated

President Obama announced four new nominees to the federal bench on Thursday, February 4, 2010. They are:
- Elizabeth Erny Foote to the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana
- Mark Goldsmith to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan
- Marc Thomas Treadwell to the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia
- Josephine S. Tucker to the United States District Court for the Central District of California
Foote and Treadwell are both attorneys in private practice; Goldsmith is a judge for the 6th Circuit Court in Oakland County, Michigan; and Tucker is judge for the Superior Court of Orange County in California.
All of the nominees must be confirmed by the United States Senate before taking the bench. [1]
