Justice Frank Murphy

Frank Murphy (1890-1949) was an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court of the United States. He was nominated by President Franklin Roosevelt on January 4, 1940 to replace Pierce Butler. He was confirmed by the Senate on January 16th, and received commission on January 18th. He served on this court until his death on July 19, 1949.[1]
