Frank A. Shepherd is a judge on the Florida Third District Court of Appeal. He took office on September 22, 2003[1] and was retained by voters on November 2, 2004.[2] He was retained by voters on November 2, 2010 to a 6-year term that begins on January 4, 2011.[3]
Education
Frank Shepherd graduated from the University of Florida in 1968. In 1970, he received a master's degree in Government from the University of Massachusetts. He went on to earn his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1972. [1]
Legal career
Frank Shepherd began his legal career working with the law firm Bradford, Williams, McKay, Kimbrell, Hamann and Jennings. He worked there for more than 18 years. He was appointed the Associate Administrator for Legal Counsel and Enforcement for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency by President Reagan in 1981. In 1990, he became the founding managing partner of the national firm Popham, Haik, Schnobrich and Kaufman, P.A. From 1997 to 1998, he was a partner in the firm Weissman Dervishi, Shepherd, Borgo & Nordland, P.A. In 1999, he became the Florida senior attorney for the Pacific Legal Foundation, a position he held until his appointment to the Court of Appeal in 2003.[1]
2010 election
Shepherd was retained on November 2, 2010 with 73.32% of voters in favor. [3][4]
