Frederick William Kaess (1910-1979) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
Kaess was nominated by President Dwight Eisenhower on June 10, 1960, to a seat vacated by Arthur Lederle; he was confirmed by the Senate on July 2, 1960, and received his commission on July 6th. He served as chief judge from 1972 until he assumed senior status on December 13, 1975. He served until his death on March 30, 1979.[1]
