G. Richard Johnson was the chancellor of the First Judicial District, serving Carter, Johnson, Unicoi, and Washington counties in Tennessee. He joined the court in 1988 and was re-elected in 2006 without opposition to a term which was to have ended in 2014.[1][2][3] However, before his term could end, Johnson retired from the court on June 30, 2013.[4]

Education

Johnson received his undergraduate degree from East Tennessee State University in 1966 and his law degree from the University of Tennessee in 1969.[1]

Career

Johnson worked as a private practice lawyer prior to becoming a Chancellor in 1988.[1]
