G. Richard Johnson is the chancellor of the First Judicial District in Tennessee (Carter, Johnson, Unicoi and Washington counties). He has served in this position since 1988. In 2006, he was re-elected without opposition to his current term, which ends in 2014.[1][2][3]

Education

Johnson received his undergraduate degree from East Tennessee State University in 1966 and his law degree from the University of Tennessee in 1969.[1]

Legal career

Johnson worked as a private practice lawyer prior to becoming a Chancellor in 1988.[1]
