Gary Fenner is a Federal Article III judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri.[1] He joined the court in 1996 after being nominated by President Bill Clinton.
Early life and education
Fenner graudated from Kansas with his Bachelor's degree in 1970 and later graduated from Kansas City Law with his J.D. degree in 1973[1].
Professional career
Fenner began his legal career as a private practice attorney in the State of Missouri in 1973 before becoming Assistant city attorney for the City of St. Joseph from 1973 to 1977 and also served as a Business law instructor at Webster from 1976 to 1977. Fenner resumed private practice work in the State of Missouri from 1977 to 1979 before being elected Circuit judge in the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri from 1979 to 1987. In 1988, the Missouri Appellate Judicial Commission appointed Fenner as a Judge in the Missouri Court of Appeals representing the Western District from 1988 to 1994 and was later promoted to chief judge to the Western District of the Missouri Court of Appeals from 1994 to 1996[1].
Judicial career

Fenner was nominated by Bill Clinton on December 13, 1995, to a seat vacated by Scott Olin Wright as Wright assumed senior status. Fenner was confirmed by the Senate on July 10, 1996 on a majority voice vote and received commission on July 25, 1996[2].
