Gary L. Sweet is a judge of the 19th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was elected on November 2, 2004 and took office the following Jan. 1. He ran unopposed and was retained in 2010 to a 6 year term that ends on January 2, 2017.[1][2][3][4]

Education

Sweet received his B.A. degree (Journalism) from the University of Texas at Austin in 1973 and his J.D. degree from Nova University in 1978.[1]

Career

Sweet began his career in 1978 as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Norman Roettger of the Southern District of Florida. He left that position in 1980. He then worked as a civil commercial litigation attorney until he was elected to the Circuit Court in 2004.[1]

2010 election

Sweet ran unopposed and was automatically retained to a new term.[2]
