Gary Witt

Gary D. Witt is a judge for the Western District of the Missouri Court of Appeals. He was appointed by Governor Nixon in 2010 to fill a vacancy on the court.

Education

Judge Witt graduated from William Jewell College in 1987 and from the University of Missouri School of Law in 1990. [1]

Professional career

Post law school, Witt was in private practice as a partner with a Platte City law firm. He served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 1991 to 1996 where he chaired the House Judiciary and Ethics Committee and the House Special Committee on Impeachment. Witt was appointed to the 6th Circuit Court (Platte County) in 1998 by Governor Carnahan. He served that court until his 2010 elevation to the Court of Appeals. [1]
