George Wakem Lindberg is an Article III federal judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He joined the court in 1989 after being nominated by President George H.W. Bush. He is serving on senior status.
Early life and education
A Chicagoland native, Lindberg graduated from Northwestern with both his bachelor's and juris doctorate degrees in 1954 and 1957. [1]

Judicial career
Northern District of Illinois
On the recommendation of Congressman Henry Hydge, Lindberg was nominated to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois by President George H.W. Bush on September 21, 1989, to a seat vacated by Prentice Marshall. Lindberg was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on November 3, 1989 on a senate vote and received commission on November 6, 1989. Lindberg assumed senior status on June 21, 2001. [1] Lindberg was succeeded in this position by Amy St. Eve.
