- Lackluster election for state Supreme Court judges (6/27/2008) Supreme Court incumbents Robert Benham and Harris Hines ran uncontested in the 2008 election cycle. Only one Georgia Court of Appeals seat (out of three) was contested; Judge John Rufin was retiring. Judges Gary Andrews and Gary Mikell ran uncontested.
- Judge orders release of Cypert document (June 11, 2008) Muscogee Superior Court Judge Frank Jordan ruled that the public was entitled to know the contents of a letter regarding the "intent to file claims against the [Muscogee County School District] system on behalf of victims of a Columbus High School teacher convicted of sexual abuse." The letter was in possession of the school district when the Ledger Enquirer, seeking access to the document, made an Open Records request. While attorneys for the school district argued that the letter was outside the boundaries of the Georgia Open Request Act, Judge Jordan disagreed.
- Judge wants deal in records suit (6/11/08) Judge Duncan Wheale sided with lawyers for the Association for Fair Government who argued that Augusta city officials attempted to shield purchasing documents for the demolition of an Augusta building. Judge Wheale steered the city and the association toward mediation.
- Judge admits mistake in kicking whites out of court (4/2/2008) Atlanta, Georgia Judge Marvin Arrington kicked out of his court room white lawyers in order to lecture black defendants. Arrington later said the move was a mistake.
