Gerald Cope

Gerald B. Cope, Jr. is a judge on the Florida Third District Court of Appeal. He was appointed by Governor Martinez and took office on December 19, 1988. He was retained by voters in 1990, 1996, and 2002. From July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2007, he was the Chief Judge.[1]
Biography
Gerald Cope was born in 1946 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He graduated from Yale University in 1968 and went on to receive his law degree from Florida State University College of Law in 1977. In 1992, he received his master's degree (LL.M.) from the University of Virginia School of Law. He is married and has one daughter.[1]
Legal career
Gerald Cope began his legal career in 1978, when he began practicing law with the law firm Arky, Freed, Stearns, Watson & Greer, P.A. In 1986, he moved to the firm Greer, Homer, Cope & Bonner, P.A. where he worked until his appointment to the Court of Appeals.[1]
