A native of Wichita, Kansas, Judge Román attended Colorado State University (Political Science, 1984) and the University of Michigan Law School (Juris Doctor, 1987).[1]Legal career

Has judged the We The People Competition as well as the finals of the HNBA's National Moot Court Competition. Has spoken about the role of the judiciary to the Leader's Challenge Youth Program, Leadership Jefferson County and high schools and law firms in the state.
