Ginger Poynter

Ginger Poynter is an attorney in Mobile. She ran for Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court as a write-in candidate, but dropped out of the race before the general election. [1][2]
Poynter's reason for running for office:
If either of the two parties put up a reasonable candidate, it wouldn’t be necessary to run. My goal is to protect the office and not allow Alabama to become the butt of jokes on late-night TV. [3]
Education
Poynter received her J.D. from Regent School of Law in Virginia. [3]
Career
Poynter has spent ten years as an attorney in private practice. Before that, she served as a prosecutor in Texas. [3]
