Glenn Harrell

Glenn T. Harrell, Jr. (b. 1945) is an associate justice of the Maryland Court of Appeals, which is Maryland's highest court. He was appointed to this position on September 10, 1999 by Parris Glendening, a Democrat.[1] He was elected on November 7, 2000[2] and his current term expires in 2010.

Biography

Judge Harrell attended the University of Maryland, earning a B.A. in 1967 and a Juris Doctor in 1970 from the University of Maryland School of Law. [1]

Legal career

Judge Harrell was admitted to the Maryland bar and entered private practice in 1970. He worked as an Associate County Attorney in Prince George's County in 1971. In 1973, he became an associate of the law firm O'Malley, Miles & Harrell. He became a partner four years later and worked in this capacity until 1991, when he became a judge of the Court of Special Appeals. He was elevated to the Court of Appeals in 1999.[1]
