Harold Murphy

Harold Lloyd Murphy is an Article III federal judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. He joined the court in 1977 after being nominated by President Jimmy Carter.
Education
Murphy graduated from Georgia Law with an Bachelor of Laws degree in 1949 and also served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1946. [1]

Federal judicial career
On the unanimous recommendations of U.S. Senators Sam Nunn and Herman Talmadge, Murphy was nominated by President Jimmy Carter on July 7, 1977 to a seat vacated by James Hill. Murphy was confirmed by the Senate on July 28, 1977 on a Senate vote and received commission on July 29, 1977. [1]
