Harriet Lansing

Harriet Lansing is a judge on the Minnesota Court of Appeals. She was first appointed to the court on November 1, 1983, and was subsequently elected to successive six-year terms in 1984, 1990, 1996, 2002 and 2008. Her current term expires in January of 2015.[1]

Biography

Judge Lansing received her B.A. degree from Macalester College in 1967 and her J.D. degree in 1970 from the University of Minnesota Law School.[1]

Legal career

Judge Lansing began her legal career in 1970 as Staff Counsel to the St. Paul Housing and Redevelopment Authority. She became an Assistant City Attorney in 1972. She then worked as a private practice lawyer from 1973 to 1976. After that, she worked as a St. Paul City Attorney until 1978, when she first became a judge. She served on the Ramsey County Municipal Court until her appointment to the Court of Appeals. She has also served on various law and community-related committees and associations throughout her career.[1]
