The Hawaii Federal Judicial Selection Commission oversees the recommendation of federal judges in Hawaii. The Commission solicits applicants for open federal seats, then reviews and vets them. They then give recommendations for appointment to the President of the United States, who will nominate one to be confirmed the the U.S. Senate.

The Commission was established in 2006 at the urging of United States Senators-Daniel K. Inouye and Daniel K. Akaka. [1]
