Heidi Schellhas

Heidi S. Schellhas is a judge on the Minnesota Court of Appeals. She was appointed to this position by Governor Pawlenty on Oct. 4, 2007 and took office on Jan. 1, 2008. Her term expires on January 3, 2011.[1]
Biography
Judge Schellhas received her B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis in 1975 and her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law in 1980.[1]
Legal career
From 1977 to 1978, she worked as a Title Examiner for Guaranty Title, Inc. She then joined the firm Dorsey & Whitney as a legal assistant in their Corporations and Securities Department. In 1979, she joined the firm Carlsen, Greiner & Law, where she worked as a law clerk, associate and partner until 1988. She then became the sole proprietor of Heidi S. Schellhas Law Offices. The following year, she helped found Rode, Lucas & Schellhas, PLLP, where she worked until 1996. Then, she was appointed Judge of the Fourth Judicial District. She worked in the Adult Criminal Court, the Juvenile Court, and finally the Civil and Adult Criminal Court before she left to become an Appellate Judge. Throughout her career, she has taught and written on law and has served on various law-related associations and committees.[1]
