Henry Alvan Mentz, Jr. (1920-2005) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
Mentz was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on June 2, 1982, to a seat vacated by Lansing Mitchell; he was confirmed by the Senate on June 24, 1982, and received commission on June 25, 1982. He assumed senior status on July 1, 1992. He served the Eastern District of Louisiana until his retirement in December 31, 2001.[1] Mentz was succeeded in this position by Sarah Vance.
