Henry Anthony Politz (1932-2002) was a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He joined the court in 1979 after being nominated by President Jimmy Carter.

Federal judicial career

Politz was nominated to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit by Jimmy Carter on May 3, 1979 to a new seat created by 92 Stat. 1629. He was confirmed by the Senate on July 12, 1979 and received his commission on July 13, 1979. Politz served as chief judge of the court from 1992 to 1999. He assumed senior status on August 10, 1999 and continued serving in that capacity until his death on May 25, 2002. [1]
