Henry Wilhoit, Jr. is a Federal District (Article III) Judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. He joined the court in 1981, after being nominated by President Ronald Reagan.
Wilhoit started his legal career being a private practice, attorney in Grayson, KY from 1960 to 1981. Also, Wilhoit has served in addition to his private practice work as a City Attorney for Grayson, KY from 1962 to 1966 and a County Attorney for Carter County from 1966 to 1970.

On the recommendation of Congressman Gene Snyder, Wilhoit was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on August 11, 1981, to a seat vacated by David Hermansdorfer. Wilhoit was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on September 25, 1981, on a voice vote and received commission on September 28, 1981. Wilhoit served as chief judge from 1998 to 2000, before assuming senior status on December 31, 2000. Wilhoit was succeeded in this position by Karen Caldwell.
