Holland confirmed to historic third term
Delaware: Associate Justice Randy Holland, of the Delaware Supreme Court, has been confirmed for a third term on the court. He is the first justice in the state's history to serve a third term for the state's highest court. He was first appointed to the court in 1986 making him the longest serving justice. He was also the youngest justice ever appointed to the court, appointed at the age of 39.
Delaware Governor Jack Markell congratulated Holland, saying, "Justice Holland made Delaware history today. That honor could not be earned by a more committed person or quality jurist. He is a scholar of the law and legal history, and is a textbook example of the intellectual rigor and fair-mindedness that is a hallmark of the Delaware courts. Justice Holland is a great example of why Delaware’s courts have a global, and well-earned, reputation for excellence. I thank him for agreeing to continue his service."
