The Hopi Tribal Courts are courts established on the Hopi Reservation in Arizona. There are two levels of the Tribal Courts, the Hopi Trial Court, which has civil jurisdiction over actions committed by American Indians on the Hopi Reservation and criminal jurisdiction over violations of Hopi Tribe ordinances, and the Hopi Appellate Court, which hears appeals from the Trial Court. The Appellate Court may also issue opinions regarding Hopi law when certified to the court by another court or tribal, federal, or state administrative agency. [1]
