Judicial career
District of Rhode Island
Letts received a recess appointment from President Calvin Coolidge on June 9, 1927 to replace Arthur Lewis Brown. On December 6, 1927, he was nominated. He was confirmed by the Senate on January 4, 1928, and received commission that same day. He resigned on June 24, 1935. Letts was succeeded in this position by John Christopher Mahoney. [1]
