Biography
Judge Caraway is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University, with a B.S. in Finance (1975) and MBA (1976). Judge Carawy is a 1980 graduate with Honors of Louisiana State University Law Center, and a Member of Order of the Coif and LSU Law Center Hall of Fame.
Legal career
Judge Caraway practiced law for 15 years as a member and director of the private firm Blanchard, Walker, O'Quin & Roberts in Shreveport before being elected as Appellate Judge in 1996 to the Second Circuit Court of Appeal.
Awards, memberships and civic activities
Judge Caraway is a member of the Second Circuit Judges’ Association, the Louisiana Judicial College, Board of Governors and the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Committee. He also is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Shreveport Bar Association and Bossier Bar Association, as well as the Harry V. Booth American Inn of Court.
Judge Caraway served as Justice ad hoc of the Louisiana Supreme Court (April, 2001) and Louisiana Representative to 1999 National Symposium on the Future of the Judicial Branch Education.
