James Catterson is a justice of the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division.
2012 election
Catterson ran for a seat on the Supreme Court 10th Judicial District. He was one of twelve candidates running for six seats in the general election on November 6, 2012. Catterson ran on the Republican and Conservative party tickets; he received 6.82% of the vote as a Republican. [1]

Education
Catterson received his undergraduate degree from Colgate University in 1980 and his J.D. from St. John's School of Law in 1985. [2]
Career
Prior to joining the Appellate Division, Catterson was Deputy County Attoreny for Suffolk County. He also served as Chief of the Asset Forfeiture Unit in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Assistant U.S. Attorney, and Assistant Suffolk County Attorney. [2]
