James Moseley is a judge on the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals. He was nominated to this position in 1996 and was re-elected to 6-year terms in 2000 and 2006.[1] He was re-elected on November 6, 2012 for a term that expires on December 31, 2018.[2][3]
Education
Moseley received his undergraduate and law degrees from Baylor University.[1]
Legal career
Justice Moseley began his legal career in 1978, working as a general practitioner in Odessa. In 1983, President Reagan appointed him the regional director of the Federal Trade Commission's Dallas office. After four years, he joined the law firm Locke Purnell Rain and Harrell. He was a partner of this firm for approximately 10 years before he became an appellate judge in 1996.[1]
2012 election
Moseley defeated judicial candidate Penny R. Phillips in the general election on November 6, 2012, with 52.6% of the vote. [4] [5][3]
