James Russell is a judge on the Nevada First Judicial District Court.
Education
Russell graduated from Carson High School in 1965 and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 1969. He graduated from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1974, after serving as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army from 1969-1971. [1]
Legal career
Judge Russell worked as a Law Clerk at the Nevada Supreme Court from 1974 to 1975; and as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of Nevada from 1975 to 1976. From 1976 to 2006, he was in private practice in Carson City, Nevada, during which time he had extensive civil litigation experience. Russell was appointed District Court Judge of the First Judicial District Court on January 1, 2007. [1]
