Jan Shackelford is a judge of the First Circuit Court, Division F, in Escambia County, Florida. She was appointed by then-Governor Jeb Bush in June of 2000. In 2008, she was re-elected to her current term, which expires on January 5, 2015.[1][2][3][4][5]

Education

Shackelford received her undergraduate degree (English and History) from Huntingdon College in 1985 and then her J.D. degree from Florida State University College of Law. she later earned her M.A. degree from the University of West Florida.[2]

Career

Shackelford began her career at a law firm in Jacksonville, FL before joining the State Attorney's office in Pensacola as a prosecutor. After that, she worked with a Pensacola law firm until she was appointed to the Circuit Court in 2000.[2]
