Janice M. Stewart is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the District of Oregon. She was appointed to this position on October 13, 1993.[1]
Biography and Education
Judge Stewart was born in Medford, Oregon in 1951. She received her A.B. degree from Stanford University in 1972 and her J.D. degree from the University of Chicago in 1975.[1]
Career
Judge Stewart began her career in 1975 working for the Chicago law firm Winston & Strawn. In 1976, she joined McEwen & Gisvold, where she became a partner in 1981. She worked in this capacity until she was appointed magistrate judge in 1993.[1]
