Jeff F. McElroy defeated fellow Democratic candidates Helen L. Lopez and Floyd W. Lopez in the June 5, 2012 primary.[4] He then defeated Republican incumbent Andria Cooper in the general election on November 6, 2012, winning 60.85% of the vote.[1]
