Jefferson County is the sole county in the 10th Circuit of Alabama. Jefferson County contains the cities of Bessemer and Birmingham. [1]
The people of Jefferson County are served by a Circuit Court, District Court, Probate Court and twenty-four Municipal Courts.
The United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama has jurisdiction in Jefferson County. Appeals from the Northern District go to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
