Jefferson County is located within the Third Judicial District, and within the Wisconsin Court of Appeals District IV.
The people of Jefferson County are served by a Circuit Court and a Municipal Court.
The United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin has jurisdiction in Jefferson County. Appeals from the Western District go to the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
