Early life and education
Born in Binghampton, New York, Simandle graduated from Princeton University with his Bachelor's Degree in 1971. Simandle graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1976 with a Juris Doctor degree.[1]
Professional career
Simandle was a law clerk for federal judge John Gerry in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey from 1976 to 1978. In 1978, Simandle joined the U.S. Attorney's Office as the Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey from 1978 to 1983. [1]
Judicial career
Magistrate, District of New Jersey
Simandle began his Judicial Career as a Federal Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Simandle was first appointed to a eight-year term in 1983 and re-appointed briefly in 1991. [1]
District of New Jersey
Simandle was nominated to the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey by President George Bush on April 1, 1992 to a new seat created by 104 Stat. 5089, which was approved by Congress. Simandle was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on May 21, 1992 and received commission on May 26, 1992. Simandle became the chief judge in 2012.[2]
