Jim Jones

Jim Jones has served as one of five justices on the Idaho Supreme Court since 2004, when he was elected. His current term expires in January of 2011.[1][2]

Biography

Judge Jones grew up in Eden, Idaho. He received his B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of Oregon in 1964 and his J.D. degree from Northwestern University School of Law in 1967. He also served in the Army, including a 13-month tour in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged in 1969. He is now marred and has three children.[1]

Legal career

Judge Jones began his legal career in 1970 as a legislative assistant to the former U.S. Senator Len B. Jordan. From 1973 to 1982, he ran his own law practice in Jerome, Idaho. He was elected Idaho Attorney General in 1982. After serving two terms, he returned to the private practice of law until his election to the Idaho Supreme Court in 2004.[1]
