John A. Barone is a justice of the Bronx County Supreme Court, Civil Term in the 12th Judicial District of New York. He was elected to this position in 2001. He was re-elected in 2014 to a term that expires on December 31, 2028.

Barone began his career in 1974 as assistant counsel to the New York City Department of City Planning. In 1977, he became an associate of the law firm of Blanc & Spielberg. He then practiced with Moore, Berson, Lifflander & Mewhinney from 1979 to 1991. During this time, he was also an associate of Sankel & Abrams in 1982, a law secretary for Harold Silverman from 1982 to 1988, and an associate of Baker, Nelson & Williams from 1989 to 1991. He became a sole practitioner in 1991.
Barone's judicial career began in 1992 when he joined the New York City Civil Court. He worked in this position through 2000, after which, he was elected to the supreme court. He has also served on the New York City Criminal Court.
