Judicial misconduct
Judge Bell has faced judicial misconduct charges before the Tennessee Court of the Judiciary two times in his 12 years on the General Sessions court.
Conspiracy charges
In 2010 Bell has been charged with improperly handling a civil case, which resulted in a complaint against him, and conspiracy to persuade the plaintiff to drop the complaint. [3][4][5]
Case funneling charges
In 2008 Bell appeared before the Court of the Judiciary on charges that he was improperly funneling probation cases to a firm owned by his brother-in-law. He was also charged with improperly taking money for a speech he gave at a local church. Those charges were dropped after Bell agreed to stop using his brother-in-law's firm. [3]
