John A. Lowell was a federal judge on the United States Circuit Court for the First Circuit and the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

First Circuit

Lowell was nominated to the First Circuit by President John Adams on February 18, 1801. He was confirmed by the Senate on February 20, 1801, and received commission that same day. He served until his death on May 6, 1802.

District of Massachusetts

Lowell was nominated to the District of Massachusetts by President George Washington on September 24, 1789. He was confirmed by the Senate on September 26, 1789, and received commission that same day. He served until February 20, 1801, due to appointment to another judicial position.
