John Malcolm Duhe, Jr. is a federal judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He joined the court in 1988 after being nominated by President Ronald Reagan. Duhe is serving on senior status.[1]

Education

Duhe graduated from Tulane with his bachelor's degree in 1955 and later graduated from Tulane Law with his law degree in 1957.[1]

Professional career

Duhe became a private practice attorney licensed in the State of Louisiana from 1957 to 1978 before being elected to the 16th Judicial Court, based in New Iberia Parish, from 1979 to 1984.[1]

Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals

Duhe was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on June 27, 1988, to a seat vacated by Judge Albert Tate, Jr.. Duhe was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on October 14, 1988, on unanimous consent of the Senate and received commission on October 17, 1988. Duhe assumed senior status on April 7, 1999.[1][2]

Western District of Louisiana

Duhe was nominated to the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana by President Ronald Reagan on May 15, 1984, to a seat vacated by Judge Eugene Davis. Duhe was confirmed by the Senate on June 8, 1984, and received commission on June 11, 1984. Duhe left the Western District of Louisiana on November 9, 1988, due to his appointment to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.[1]
