John Grady

John Grady is a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Education
Grady graduated from Northwestern with his Bachelor's degree in 1952 and later graduated from Northwestern Law with his Juris Doctor degree in 1954[1].
Legal career
Grady was a private practice attorney in the State of Illinois from 1954 to 1956 before joining the U.S. Attorney's Office as Chief of the Criminal Division, for the Northern District of Illinois from 1956 to 1961 before resuming private practice work from 1961 to 1976[1].
Federal judicial career
Grady was nominated by President Gerald Ford on October 20, 1975 to a seat vacated by Edwin Robson as Robson assumed senior status[1]. Grady was confirmed by the Senate on November 20, 1975 and received commission on November 21, 1975. Grady served as the chief judge of the the Northern District of Illinois from 1986 to 1990 before later assuming senior status on May 23, 1994[1].
