John Jay Jackson

John Jay Jackson, Jr. (1824-1907) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia.
He was nominated by President Abraham Lincoln on July 26, 1861. He was confirmed by the Senate on August 3, 1861, and received commission that same day. On June 10, 1864, he was reassigned to the United States District Court for the District of West Virginia. He was reassigned again on July 1, 1901 to the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia. He retired on March 15, 1905.
