John L. Brown is a Presiding Judge of the South Dakota Sixth Judicial Circuit. He was appointed presiding judge in August 2011, following the elevation of Lori Wilbur to the South Dakota Supreme Court. [1]

Brown earned his J.D. from the University of South Dakota School of Law. [2]

Career

Before entering the legal profession, Brown operated a family farm and ranch. He also served in the South Dakota House of Representatives and the South Dakota Senate. [2]
