John McKinney (1829-1871) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
He received a recess appointment from President Ulysses Grant on November 8, 1870 and was nominated on December 7, 1870. He was confirmed by the Senate on February 18, 1871, and received commission that same day.[1] He served until his death on October 12, 1871. McKinney was succeeded in this position by James William Locke.
