John Skylstead Rhoades, Sr. (1925-2007) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
Rhoades was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on September 27, 1985, to a seat vacated by Leland Nielsen; he was confirmed by the Senate on October 25, 1985, and received commission on October 28, 1985. He assumed senior status on November 4, 1995. He served the Southern District of California until his death on September 3, 2007. Rhoades was succeeded in this position by Thomas Whelan.
